NI Water currently produces approximately 16 283 tonnes per year of Water Treatment Works (WTWs) Residuals (EWC 19 09 02). This is produced at the following sites:
- Altnahinch; 1 458 tonnes,
- Carmoney; 1 047 tonnes,
- Caugh Hill; 3 705 tonnes,
- Derg; 1 513 tonnes,
- Dorisland; 1 785 tonnes,
- Drumaroad; 2 414 tonnes,
- Fofanny; 1 228 tonnes,
- Glenhordial; 181 tonnes,
- Lough Bradan; 1 018 tonnes,
- Lough Fea; 563 tonnes,
- Lough Macrory; 628 tonnes,
- Seagahan; 1 080 tonnes.
NI Water has in place a contract for the disposal of WTW Residuals which expires 30.11.2017, however it has the option to extend further.
NI Water would like to engage with the market to determine if there are potential innovative disposal/ recycling options for our WTW Residuals and what the associated time-scales would be in obtaining the required End of Waste licences, planning approvals etc.

We would therefore invite you to submit an expression of interest in response to this PIN by emailing no later than 16:00 Friday, 27.5.2016.

NI Water will then be in contact with interested Economic Operators to set out details on site visits, sample taking, sharing of data/ waste analysis available to NI Water and any subsequent meetings/ presentations.
Please note that NI Water will not reimburse any costs incurred by Economic Operators in connection with this market engagement exercise.
