UWE is seeking Expressions of Interest from the market place on a proposed gas fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit which will feed into a District Heating Networking serving a number of buildings on its Frenchay campus.

UWE is seeking feedback from the market on a number of aspects of its proposed CHP project. Interested parties are asked to complete an Expression of Interest Questionnaire. Details on how to do this are displayed in Section VI.3 (the additional information section) of this PIN.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:

The Scope of the project is likely to include i) the supply and installation of an appropriately sized CHP engine, thermal store and ancillary infrastructure, ii) all planned/ unplanned/ reactive maintenance for a defined period (likely to be between 10 and 15 years) and iii) optimisation services of the CHP to ensure plant is operating to its maximum capability.

UWE has already made a capital investment in heat pipework creating a backbone to the network, and the proposed CHP will connect into this existing network. For information, a CHP Sizing Validation Study has been undertaken and an engine size of between 1.0MWe and 1.4MWe is anticipated, however interested Suppliers will need to propose their own solutions based upon the proposed Heat Loads. This information will be made available as part of any formal Tender procedure.

How to access and submit your Expression of Interest Questionnaire;

The University is seeking feedback from the market place on a number of aspects of its proposed CHP project. Interested parties are asked to request and complete an Expression of Interest Questionnaire. Supporting documents can also be provided with your response. Your completed questionnaire must be uploaded to the portal no later than 14:00 on Thurs 16th March. Following the submission of initial feedback from the completed questionnaires, UWE may have discussions with a number of the respondents to obtain further feedback. This is planned for Wednesday 22.3.2017 Any companies not invited for further discussions will not be precluded from participating in any subsequent procurement process.

The questionnaire is not yet available but will be available through the In-Tend HE portal by the end of the week commencing 6.3.2017. In-Tend can be accessed via: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/he/aspx/Home
