Regulation 72(1)(b) allows for new requirements that were not included in the original award for economic and technical reasons, however, it limits the modification value to 50 % of the original contract value.. These additional services ‘have become necessary’ and a change of supplier would not be practicable (for economic, technical or interoperability reasons) at this stage and would jeopardise the delivery of Universal Credit welfare Supplementary Payments.
