Main Contractor Appointment at Killyfaddy Road, Magherafelt.
We wish to appoint a main contractor to undertake the new build construction of 10 no. new build general needs social housing units at Killyfaddy Road, Magherafelt for the following mix of accommodation:
- 8 no. 3 person 2 bedroom general need houses
- 2 no. 5 person 3 bedroom general need houses
The scheme has been programmed to commence on site on or prior to 31.3.2018 for inclusion in the 2017/18 Social Housing Development Programme.
The contract is for the provision of 10no new build social housing accommodation at Killyfaddy Road, Magherafelt to create:
- 8no. 3 person 2 bedroom General Needs Houses
- 2no. 5 person 3 bedroom General Needs Houses
Please note this mix may be subject to change based on the outcome of a planning application.
This site is a restricted greenfield site located in a mainly residential area and is bounded by hedgerows as well as mature trees/shrubbery with sections to be retained. Current access to the site also serves as a right of way to the neighbouring properties with access to be retained during the course of the works.
Site surveys are still to be undertaken.
The contractor will be responsible for all services etc. to develop this site and for providing, prior to completion, the relevant statutory approvals and documentation.
The scheme is to be on site by early 2018. The contract period is anticipated to be 14 months.

The cost of responding to the pre-qualification package (PQQP) and any subsequent tender information and/or participation exercise in the procurement process generally will be borne solely by the economic operator participating. A Memorandum of Information and pre-qualification questionnaire package (PQQP) is available in respect of the project referred to in Section I) above. Economic operators should note that the Contracting Authority reserves the right to cancel this procurement process at any stage. Any expenditure, work or effort undertaken prior to the contract award is at the sole risk of the economic operator participating in this procurement process. All discussions and correspondence will be deemed strictly ‘Subject to Contract’ until a formal contract is entered into. The formal contract shall not be binding until it has been signed and dated by the duly authorised representatives of the parties. Any date given in Section IV) above is a best estimate at the time of dispatch. The Contracting Authority reserves the right to extend any such date. Neither the publication of this Notice nor the employment of any particular terminology or any other indication shall be taken to mean that the Contracting Authority intends to hold itself bound by Directive 2014/24/EU (as Amended) as implemented by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
